Privacy Policy

Last updated: 27 September 2026

This Privacy Policy describes how Open Paper Call may handle information when you use the website. Replace the operator/contact placeholders in this page before the public launch.

1. Information you provide

If you contact us, report a correction, request support, or communicate about advertising, we may receive the information you choose to provide, such as your name, email address, organization, and message.

2. Saved calls and local storage

The current saved-call feature may store CFP identifiers in your own browser using local storage. This allows the site to remember saved calls on the same browser. Local storage is not the same as creating a user account and, unless a future account feature is introduced, Open Paper Call does not need to know your identity to use it.

3. Trending and aggregate interaction data

Open Paper Call may count interactions with CFP pages, including a call-page view and a click to the official publisher page, to produce the Trending page. The trending counter is designed to store the CFP identifier, event type, calendar day and aggregate count rather than a researcher profile. Trending is an engagement signal only and is not a journal-quality ranking or recommendation.

4. Analytics

We may use privacy-conscious website analytics and/or Google Analytics to understand aggregate website usage, such as page views, traffic sources, device types, general geographic information, and interactions with site features. The production policy will identify the analytics services actually enabled.

5. Advertising

Open Paper Call may display advertising from third-party advertising partners. If Google AdSense is used, Google and its advertising partners may use cookies or similar technologies to serve, measure, and personalize advertising where permitted. Ad personalization and consent options may vary by region.

Google explains how it uses information from sites and apps that use its services at its own privacy and advertising policy pages. Visitors may also use Google's advertising settings to control personalized advertising where available.

6. Consent management

Where required by applicable law or advertising-platform rules, Open Paper Call will use an appropriate consent-management mechanism before non-essential advertising or analytics technologies are activated. For Google advertising in regions where Google requires a certified consent-management platform, Open Paper Call will configure a supported solution.

7. Third-party links

Open Paper Call links to publisher and journal websites. Once you leave Open Paper Call, the privacy practices of the destination website apply. We do not control third-party privacy policies or submission systems.

8. Data retention

Contact messages and operational records should be retained only for as long as reasonably needed for support, security, compliance, and business administration. Specific retention periods may be added once production systems are finalized.

9. Children

Open Paper Call is designed for researchers and academic users and is not directed to children.

10. Contact

Privacy enquiries can be sent to openpapercall@gmail.com.

Advertising note: advertising and analytics technologies are enabled only when configured for the public site. Consent controls will be used where required.

CFP submissions

If you submit a call by email, Open Paper Call may receive the contact information and call details you provide. These details are used to review the submission, communicate about the listing, and maintain the accuracy of the service. Do not submit confidential or sensitive information.
